Unsurprisingly, EA Sports FC 26 followed in the footsteps of its predecessors and took first place in the German annual charts, which featured a few surprises. With EA, Nintendo and 2K/Take-Two Interactive, three publishers have four titles in the top 20.
The fact that Electronic Arts must still be considered the most successful publisher is also due to its rankings: three EA titles are in the top 10 of the annual charts. Particularly pleasing from EA's point of view is the performance of Battlefield 6, which ranks second behind EA Sports FC 26. Competitor Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 only manages to reach eighth place. Its predecessor was number two in Germany in 2024.
The performance of Mario Kart World is also astonishing. The Switch 2 exclusive game made it to third place, even though the installed base is still being built up. By comparison, the best PS5 exclusive, Ghost of Yotei from Sony Interactive Entertainment, ‘only’ made it to 14th place.
The annual charts also show great success for Ubisoft, which has two titles in the top ten of the year with Assassin's Creed Shadows and Anno 117: Pax Romana. Anno 117 is also the best-selling German-produced game on the list. Plaion also made it into the top ten with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Capcom with Monster Hunter Wilds and 2K with Borderlands 4.
However, successful games such as ARC Raiders, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Hollow Knight: Silksong are not included in the list because the sales data was not reported to GSD by the respective publishers.
The 2025 annual charts from the industry association game list the games released that year for PCs and game consoles that achieved the strongest German sales in 2025, physically and digitally, across platforms. The data is gathered by Games Sales Data (GSD), a platform operated by Video Games Europe (VGE). In Germany, GSD obtains data from publishers on sales through both retailers and digital platforms such as Nintendo eShop, PSN, Xbox Store and Steam. Digital sales of Nintendo titles from the Nintendo eShop are not included.
