Astro Bot was the big winner at this year's BAFTA Games Awards, taking home five trophies. There were no German triumphs. The most-nominated title, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, managed to secure just one award.

There’s no question: the field was packed with strong contenders. At this year’s BAFTA Games Awards, several favourites were nominated across numerous categories. With eleven nominations, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II led the pack, followed by Astro Bot and Still Wakes the Deep, each with eight. However, the evening clearly belonged to Astro Bot. The PlayStation title from Team Asobi not only won Best Game, but also took home awards for Animation, Audio Achievement, Family, and Game Design.

Still Wakes the Deep also had multiple reasons to celebrate. It was named Best New IP and won both Performer categories (Leading and Supporting Role). This, of course, meant that German actress Melina Juergens, nominated for her role in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, went home empty-handed. In fact, neither the German nominees nor Hellblade II had much luck. Both Slow Bros., nominated in the Artistic Achievement category for Harold Halibut, and Little Bat Games, nominated in the Game Beyond Entertainment category for Vampire Therapist, missed out on awards. Ultimately, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II won just one BAFTA, for Technical Achievement.

The evening also ended on a disappointing note for two other heavily nominated titles. While Thank Goodness You’re Here, which received seven nominations, at least took home the BAFTA for Best British Game, Black Myth: Wukong, wich received six nominations, left empty-handed.
