Games Bavaria Munich e.V. welcomes the recent announcement of an increase in funding for the Bavarian games industry, from €6.4 million to almost €13 million per year. The association views this announcement as a positive sign for the future of the video games industry in Bavaria. According to the association, doubling the funds will create new opportunities for small and medium-sized studios to realise innovative projects and strengthen their competitiveness.

"We would like to thank Minister President Markus Söder and Digital Minister Fabian Mehring for their clear commitment to the games industry. The additional funding will allow our studios in Bavaria to flourish, creating space for creativity, new jobs and sustainable growth," says Benjamin Zuckerer, Chairman of Games Bavaria Munich e.V. The association views the games sector as a key driver of innovation and economic growth in Bavaria. With the increased funding, local studios will be able to realise their creative visions, retain talent in the region, and further establish Bavaria as a leading location for game development.
