Blossom Path Games Announces Thrud - Valkyrie Rising

The first game from Bayreuth-based Blossom Path Games is Thrud - Valkyrie Rising. The team, which came together after studying at the University of Bayreuth, is dedicated to the roguelike and survivor genres. They are also looking for publishers.
Thrud - Valkyrie Rising is the first commercial game from Blossom Path Games, an indie game studio based in Bayreuth, Germany. It's their take on the roguelike and survivor genres. As Thrud, daughter of Thor, players battle hordes of enemies and bosses in the realms of Norse mythology. "Harness the power of divine gems to unleash your abilities and engrave runes that grant you unique powers. Adapt your fighting style to every challenge and grow stronger with each battle. Every decision shapes your journey, every victory brings you closer to your ultimate goal: confronting Loki and preventing the impending destruction of the Nine Worlds," the developers said.
Blossom Path Games was founded in March 2024 by students of the Master's programme in Computer Game Studies at the University of Bayreuth. During their studies, they had the opportunity to work on several game projects and participated in numerous game jams. The founding members of the company first worked together on a university project, developing an unnamed bullet heaven roguelite. This successful partnership sparked the idea that led to the creation of Blossom Path Games.
Thrud - Valkyrie Rising is their first major game, building on their previous experience. The concept for Thrud - Valkyrie Rising was born in the autumn of 2023, after the completion of an earlier, unnamed bullet heaven game developed as a university project. In February 2024, they received €100,000 in funding from FFF Bayern and the budget of the Free State of Bavaria, which allowed them to complete the prototype by February 2025. They are currently looking for a publisher. At the same time, the team is preparing to release the game in Q4 2025 on Steam.
