YouGov has declared Nintendo the Biggest Buzz Mover in Germany in May. This is due to a sharp rise in the BrandIndex score, which can be attributed to the start of pre-sales for the Switch 2.

The hype surrounding the Switch 2 should come as no surprise to anyone in the gaming industry, but according to YouGov, it also extends far beyond the gaming industry. The German division of the market research company has declared Nintendo the Biggest Buzz Mover in May. In its YouGov BrandIndex, the company evaluates the BuzzScore of more than 1,500 brands in Germany. Nintendo's BuzzScore rose from 6.66 points to 9.99 points within a month. The score indicates whether the majority of comments about a brand are positive or negative.

Further data available to Gamesmarkt shows that with the announcement of the release date and the start of pre-orders, some of the key metrics for the BrandIndex  – positive buzz, ad awareness and consideration – have risen.
