Epic Games and Lego have announced transformative changes that will turn Lego Fortnite even more into a digital platform for Lego content. The original game will be rebranded as Lego Fortnite Odyssey, while a new game, Lego Fortnite Brick Life, is set to launch on December 12.

These developments come about a year after the initial launch of Lego Fortnite as a spin-off of Fortnite. Since then, significant progress has been made. In March 2024, Epic Games and Lego introduced Lego elements and tools for Fortnite’s creator mode as part of their long-term strategic partnership. This opened the door for a growing array of Lego-themed content, much of it created by the community. Lego itself has also contributed, releasing its own islands like Lego Tycoon: Tilted Towers and Lego Chasers vs. Hunters.

With a steady stream of content, Lego Fortnite has already evolved into a Lego-centric platform within the broader Fortnite universe. In response to this growth, Epic Games and Lego are rolling out a major update that marks a new era. The original survival crafting game, now called Lego Fortnite Odyssey, will coexist with Lego Fortnite Brick Life, a new social RPG that launches December 12. Lego Fortnite Brick Life is expected to receive ongoing updates and expansions in the years ahead.

This transformation cements Lego Fortnite as a standalone ecosystem within the Fortnite framework. The only missing piece? The inclusion of iconic Lego-licensed worlds such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and others, which could further expand the Lego Fortnite universe with their own dedicated games.
