Postponements Impact Nacon's Results, but the Outlook Promises Strong Growth
Although Nacon's annual sales remained almost unchanged, a number of postponements resulted in a net loss of €1.3 million. The French company is expecting strong growth in business levels and operating income for the 2025/26 financial year.
Nacon has presented its annual report for the 2024/25 financial year, which ended on 31 March 2025. The French publisher and peripheral manufacturer recorded sales of €167.9 million for the full year, which is stable year-on-year (€97.1 million in gaming, €65.2 million in accessories, and €5.6 million in other activities). Gross margin improved from 62.1% to 64.4%. "The release of Test Drive Unlimited during the year caused depreciation/amortisation of non-current assets to increase by €8.5 million year-on-year to €58.5 million. Operating income was €1.1 million," the company states. Net income for the period was -€1.3 million, compared with a profit of €17.5 million in the previous year. "Higher interest rates explain the change in net financial expense: the current average interest rate on bank borrowings is 3.0%", the company continues. As of 31 March 2025, Nacon had equity totalling €284.4 million, including the capital increase in July 2024. No dividend was proposed for shareholders.
The 2024/25 results were affected by the postponement of several titles and accessories to the 2025/26 financial year. Currently, 40 games are in development, with related assets totalling €124.5 million. The company expects strong growth in business levels and operating income from the first half of 2025/26 onwards, i.e. until the end of September 2025.
In the games segment, the release dates for Robocop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business (17 July) and Hell is Us (4 September) have been set, with the latter currently holding a spot in the top 100 of Steam's wishlist charts at #83. In the sports segment, Tour de France 2025, Rugby League, and Pro Cycling Manager 25 are planned. AFL 26 (Australian Football League), released in May, has already achieved "impressive sales figures". Season 4 of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown and Architect Life, plus DLC, are also planned.
The following are planned for the second half of the financial year (1 October 2025 to 31 March 2026): Dragonkin: The Banished, Styx: Blades of Greed, Edge of Memories, GreedFall II, Cricket 26, Rennsport, Endurance Motorsport Series, Gear.Club Unlimited and seasons 5 and 6 of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. Nacon: "Because of the number of games released in 2024/25, Back Catalogue sales in 2025/26 are likely to be similar to the level achieved last year." Not mentioned at all was Terminator: Survivors from Nacon Studio Milan. Recently, Nacon announced that it had secured the World Rally Championship (WRC) licence for PC and console games for six seasons from 2027 to 2032.
The accessories business will be further boosted by the Xbox Revolution X Unlimited Controller and the RevoSim range, which includes the RS Pure steering wheel, DD-9Nm base and RS Pure pedal set. Around 30 accessories have been developed specifically for Nintendo Switch 2.
The outlook for the company, which employs over 1,000 people in total, is as follows: "With its strong positions in two complementary business areas, a busy release schedule in the current financial year and numerous upcoming product launches in the Accessories business, Nacon is going into the 2025/26 financial year with confidence, buoyed by a stronger product line-up, a strategy of continuous innovation and rigorous financial discipline." Daedalic Entertainment is owned by Nacon.
