Embracer Group has announced changes to its leadership team. Phil Rogers is set to take over as CEO on 1 August 2025. Lars Wingefors is proposed to be appointed as Executive Chair of the Board.

The Embracer Group's Board of Directors took the next step in the company's transformation process by appointing Phil Rogers as CEO, effective from 1 August 2025. Rogers is currently Deputy CEO of Embracer and CEO of the operating group Crystal Dynamics - Eidos. At the Annual General Meeting on 18 September 2025, Lars Wingefors is expected to be appointed Executive Chair of the Embracer Board. In this role, he will oversee matters such as capital allocation, M&A and strategy, in addition to his general responsibilities as Chair of the Board. Kicki Wallje-Lund, the current Chair of the Board, has been proposed as Deputy Chair.

"With the start of this new phase, I am thankful for the years and lessons learned as CEO of Embracer. While the road has not always been straight, I am incredibly proud of the achievements made possible by our talented teams, which have created some incredible experiences for gamers. This new phase allows me to focus on strategic initiatives, M&A, and capital allocation, ensuring Embracer's continued growth and success. I am more convinced than ever that the best is still ahead of us. Having worked very closely with Phil over the past years, I have high confidence in his abilities. I look forward to a continued close collaboration to further strengthen the business and drive value in the coming years", says Lars Wingefors, co-founder and Group CEO of Embracer.

Jacob Jonmyren, who is currently a board member of Embracer, will become the chair of Coffee Stain Group's board. Additionally, Lars Wingefors, the CEO of Coffee Stain Group, and Anton Westbergh will be appointed as directors of Coffee Stain Group. Further directors will be appointed prior to the spin-off of Coffee Stain Group. Furthermore, Erik Sunnerdahl, who is currently Group Finance Director at Embracer, has been appointed as Coffee Stain Group's CFO.

By the end of the year, Coffee Stain Group is to be spun off as an independent company. The new name of the remaining Embracer Group, which also includes Plaion, DECA and THQ Nordic, will be Fellowship Entertainment - not Middle Earth & Friends, which was the working title.
