SAE Awards for Games remain in German-speaking countries
As a highlight of the SAE Convention, the private educational institute honours the work of its students and alumni with the SAE Awards. The winners of the 16 categories come from all over the world. In the gaming categories, the awards went to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
A total of 1200 guests cheered on the winners of this year's SAE Awards, which the private educational institution presents to students and alumni at the so-called SAE Convention. A total of 569 game, film, VFX, web and music productions made it to the final round of this year's competition. The entrants themselves came from 26 countries. In the end, teams and individuals from Australia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa triumphed in the 16 categories, seven of which were for the Alumni sub-competition and nine for the SAE Students Awards.
Looking only at the Games and VFX section, all the relevant awards remained in the German-speaking countries this year. Among the alumni, Léon-Lucas Kaniewski from the Bochum campus won the category "Best Game Production" and Matthias Kornherr and Dominik Bittermann from the SAE Institute Vienna won the category "VFX & 3D Art Production". In the student category, the "Best VFX & 3D Art Project" and "Best Game Programming Project" also went to students from the SAE Campus Vienna, almost completing a hat-trick. Florian Stühler from the SAE Institute Vienna and Robin Seifert from the SAE Institute Zurich shared the prize in the category "Best Game Art Project".
