With sales of over one million on PC, Halls of Torment is one of the biggest and most acclaimed survivor-likes to date. Chasing Carrots has just announced that the game is coming to consoles, along with its first-ever DLC, titled The Boglands.

Drawing inspiration from Diablo and Vampire Survivors, Halls of Torment is a horde survival game with a pre-rendered aesthetic reminiscent of the late '90s. With over one million sales on PC and more than 28,000 reviews on Steam (96% positive), it is one of the most successful "Survivor-likes" games to date. Now, the development team, Chasing Carrots, has announced that the game is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Alongside the console version, the team will also release the first DLC, titled "The Boglands". A release date has not yet been announced.

The Boglands is the first DLC for Halls of Torment and will be available to purchase on PC and console. "Beyond the cursed Halls lie the Boglands – a sunken realm of creeping roots, drowned spirits, and creatures that never died quite properly. This expansion for Halls of Torment opens a festering new frontier, introducing fresh heroes, mechanics, and challenges for those who believe they've tamed the torment", said the developers. It includes a new stage (a slowing swamp), two new heroes (The Crone and The Alchemist), over 50 new quests, new abilities and gear, a decay mechanic and an earth element, six new artefacts and more traits. There are also more blessings and more ways to die.

Chasing Carrots is an independent game studio based in Stuttgart, founded in 2011. Its previous titles include Cosmic Nautica, Pressure Overdrive, Good Company and Halls of Torment.
