Japanese Tenchu developer Acquire and Red Dune Games, a publisher and developer from the UAE, have big plans. Together, they intend to create new IPs for PC and current consoles that will be marketed worldwide. Three projects are already in development.

This means that the newly announced partnership will not start with one game, but with a whole wave of game releases. However, partners Acquire and Red Dune Games have not announced many details about the projects. Project Tremor, Project Umbra, and Project Shadowcar – the working titles – explore different genres and visions. All games are set to be released for PC and the major consoles. Global marketing, multilingual support and premieres at international events such as the Tokyo Game Show are planned.

"Acquire is a legendary studio with a deep creative legacy, and we are honored to work with them to build the next wave of original games. This partnership is a reflection of our belief that the future of gaming lies in global collaboration, where stories cross borders, and innovation knows no region", says Sultan Darmaki, CEO and Creative Director of Red Dunes Games. And Takuma Endo, CEO of Acquire Corp adds: "We’ve always believed in the power of originality. Now, with Red Dunes, we’re building something truly international."

Acquire is a game developer from Tokyo with a long history, known for titles such as Tenchu, which was originally banned in Germany, and the Way of the Samurai series. In recent years, Acquire has been involved in the development of the Octopath Traveller titles, among others. Acquire was also acquired in 2024 by Kadokawa, which also owns From Software and in which Sony has a stake.
