The goal was 23,000 Euros, in the end over 103,000 Euros were raised. Chimera Entertainment's Kickstarter for Songs of Silence has been successful. The game will go into early access in May. For the Munich-based company, the Kickstarter was more of a marketing tool.

The Kickstarter campaign for Songs of Silence by Chimera Entertainment ended last night. 1,626 backers contributed 103,807 Euros. The funding goal of 23,000 Euros was reached after only eight hours. Several stretch goals were also met, including animated intro and outro sequences, co-op multiplayer, challenge maps and other gameplay enhancements.

Quentin Choulet, Project & Process Manager, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the team on Kickstarter: "As our Kickstarter campaign nears its conclusion, we - the entire Chimera team - want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support and enthusiasm through this journey. Each pledge, comment, and share has propelled us forward and deeply inspired every member of our team. Your belief in our vision and we can't wait to bring you all the stretch goals you unlocked - together with Songs of Silence!"

It continues with the launch of Early Access on 23 May. The Kickstarter was not primarily intended to raise money for the realization of the project, but rather as a marketing tool to reach more people and build a community. However, the studio intends to use the additional funds to further improve and expand the game.

"Imagine the excitement of waiting for your favorite movie to finally be in theaters, or seeing your favorite band live on stage - now think bigger. That's the scale of what we're aiming for. We are setting the stage for an unforgettable launch, stay tuned," writes the studio, making it clear that the Early Access launch of the strategy game is intended to make an impact. The schedule is also tight. The full version will be released in the fourth quarter of 2024. Two DLCs are planned for 2025.

Songs of Silence received 500,000 Euros in funding from FFF Bayern and almost 1.5 million Euros in funding from the German government's computer games funding programme under the working title "Realms at War". In addition, almost one million euros has been approved for a DLC pack. Chimera Entertainment employs around 60 people and is one of the largest teams within the international family of game studios at Remote Control Productions. Founded in 2006, the team is best known for Sacred Legends, Word Wonders: The Tower of Babel and Angry Birds Evolution.
