Reactions and Congratulations Following the DCP 2025
Deserving winners, a smooth show, happy guests – as expected, the DCP 2025 was a glittering evening. Congratulations for the show and the winners came from all sides. We have summarised some of them below.
As one of the organisers of the DCP, the game association was naturally among the first to offer its congratulations: "We congratulate all the award winners!" says Felix Falk, Managing Director of game – The German Games Industry Association. "Impressive variety, captivating stories and first-rate technologies: once again, on the grand stage of the German Computer Game Awards 2025, the enormous strength of German games studios was clear to see. Germany produces exciting games with world-market potential. These successes send a strong signal and show what Germany has to offer as a game production location. Together with the new Federal Government, we want to enable this creative and technological excellence to shine even more brightly on the international stage in the future."
Five studios from the capital region won awards at this year's DCP. The Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg was delighted. Managing Director Helge Jürgens said: "Congratulations to all the DCP award winners! We are delighted that the Berlin team at Megagon Industries, which we have supported since its inception, has been named Studio of the Year. We have also supported Happy Broccoli Games from the very beginning. This reinforces our funding decisions, which have led to the establishment of young game studios in the region that are now economically and artistically successful!"
Of course, Bavaria's Minister of State for Digital Affairs,Dr Fabian Mehring, did not miss the opportunity to offer his congratulations, even though he may have hoped for a more generous haul. After all, Bavarian studios were nominated in various categories. Among the winners was Deine Stimme (Your Voice) by Sebastian Grünwald, Reality Twist and the State Agency for Political Education. "Deine Stimme is a game that strikes a chord with the spirit of the times: it teaches young people in a clever, modern and interactive way how important political participation and democratic vigilance are – especially at a time when our democracy is under increasing pressure. The game impressively demonstrates what education can look like in the digital age. After all, those who understand the media can make informed decisions – and media literacy is the key skill of the 21st century," said Mehring.
Most of the congratulations were naturally posted on social media. USK Managing Director Elisabeth Secker wrote on LinkedIn, for example: "What a great Deutscher Computerspielpreis (DCP)! Congratulations to all the winners! It was great to see so many faces from the industry and beyond at the event this evening!"
Malte Behrmann wrote: "The Deutsche Computerspielpreis was awarded in a fantastic show at Palais am Funkturm in Messe Berlin. Congratulations to all winners, especially I am happy for my ex students and friends from Megagon Industries for best German studio. [...] Since it’s early beginning I never missed this yearly event and this was really the best DCP I have ever seen. Let’s hope that the best German games will be successfully played by Germans and around the world."
Sabiha Ghellal, Chairwoman of the DCP jury wrote: "Thank you for a wonderful evening! It was my absolute pleasure to chair the jury of this year’s German Computer Game Awards 2025."Grateful to all the amazing game makers who submitted their work – your creativity and dedication are seen, heard, and truly appreciated. Let’s keep building this incredible industry together!"
Christoph Kohlhaas, Managing Director of Games Syndicate Cologne and Innovation Manager at KölnBusiness Wirtschaftsförderung, writes: "Cologne can do DCP! What an evening at#DCP2025 in Berlin! The industry showed itself from its best side: intensive discussions, new faces, old companions – and a lot of passion for games.I am proud that the Games Syndicate Cologne e.V. with the Cologne region was not only visible, but was able to set real accents. Berlin and Munich like to compete for the games crown – but Cologne has nothing to hide. On the contrary: our community is growing, we are loud, creative and full of talent."
