The new indie game studio for non-violent adventures Sudden Forest has incorporated in Berlin yesterday. The founders are Anton Licht, Matthias Kempke and Laura Mazgaj, bringing with them development, writing and producing skills from years of experience in the industry respectively.

Between the layoffs and studio closures, there are also new beginnings: Yesterday, the new indie game studio Sudden Forest has incorporated in Berlin. The founders are Anton Licht, Matthias Kempke and Laura Mazgaj. For their mission statement, they chose to create “heartfelt, non-violent action-adventure games”. Currently, Sudden Forest is working on the prototype of their first game, Summer on Tidewind.

The founders are no strangers to the game industry. Licht has been game developer and game director especially in the mobile game area, with time at King, 5th Planet games and several years at Wooga. Kempke has created several indie games and acted as creative lead, writer and narrative designer on several projects at Daedalic Entertainment. Mazgaj has inhabited game producer capacities at several companies, among them 5th Planet Games, Electric Manta and Lively Studios.

“The three of us bring years of experience crafting narrative and character-driven games across all kinds of platforms, and I can’t wait to show you what our combined efforts are bringing to life,” says Licht. Their website has just gone live as well.
