Starting in February 2026, Nuremberg indie game dev Distant Meadows, developer of Waters of Sal Naména (we reported exclusively), is organising a FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) game dev workshop. The workshop series is planned with weekly social co-working sessions and guidance by FOSS experts at Haus des Spiels in Nuremberg. Taught FOSS tools include Godot, Blender and Aseprite, among others.

Apart from the weekly meetings planned for every Thursday evening from February onward, an event is planned for the end of July 2026 that incorporates the workshop experience and the participants.

All workshops are held in hybrid format and are free for attendants.

The event is supported by Games/Bavaria, but Distant Meadows is still looking for additional sponsors.
