Yager is Co-Developing Two New Tencent Games
Since 2022, MD Timo Ullmann's Yager is developing Dune: Awakening in the Tencent parent company. Now, the Berlin studio is taking up another co-development: Exoborne together with Swedish-British Sharkmob. The announcement comes in Yager's 25th anniversary year, following a rebranding.
In the year of its 25th anniversary, Berlin development studio Yager is announcing not one, but two co-developments under its parent company Tencent.
Since 2022, Yager is part of the development of Dune: Awakening, an open world survival MMO in Frank Herbert’s Dune universe spearheaded by Funcom. The studio revealed their involvement while rebranding just this year, celebrating its 25 years with a new logo. Now, the studio has announced a second game development cooperation.
With the experience Yager gathered while developing it’s now defunct extraction shooter The Cycle, the Berlin crew is now part of the development of Exoborne – together with Swedish-British studio Sharkmob, developers of Bloodhunt. Exoborne is based on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released under Tencent’s Level Infinite Label.
Timo Ullmann, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Yager said: ‘Yager now has a rich history spanning 25 years. Our company values, mission and vision have continued to evolve over the years and we are proud of our heritage, our games and the support we can offer other studios. We are Yager - true to the game.’
