While last year's EA Sports FC 26 focused on under-the-hood improvements, this year's release introduces major new features such as The Grounds: a new social playground designed to bring a whole new dimension to the game by combining street football with stadium play. It enhances the Clubs experience by offering a variety of options, ranging from casual, fast-paced 1v1 pickup games to competitive tournaments. Players can explore three districts inspired by football history, developing and personalising players both on and off the field with guidance from mentors such as Kylian Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala and Alex Hunter. Certain content and features of EA Sports FC 27, including 'The Grounds' mode and its clubs, will be exclusively available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of the game.

EA: "The Grounds is the most social way to play EA Sports FC 27, bringing up to 100 players together in a shared football playground, built around a central Terrace and three distinct districts inspired by football cultures around the world."

The revamped career mode features a more dynamic transfer market. Powered by TransferRoom, player values are influenced by the club’s purchasing power, player potential, ratings and form, delivering even greater realism. New to the game is the Football Ultimate Team Gallery. There, players can collect and complete sets of items representing past and present professionals from clubs, leagues, nations and FUT campaigns. They can also raise their Gallery Level, unlock rewards and develop their club's identity throughout the season.

Community-driven gameplay improvements are designed to provide greater control and fluidity across all game modes. These include dynamic corner kicks, an improved attacking system, manual defending tailored for competitive play, and a rebalanced AI defence. All these improvements should lead to a more player-focused experience.

The game features over 21,000 male and female players from more than 800 clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums, and over 35 leagues, made possible through the support of over 300 football partners worldwide. These include the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, UEFA Women's Champions League, Conmebol Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga and LaLiga EA Sports. Also included are the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga, Liga F Movistar, Barclays Women's Super League, Ligue 1 McDonald's, Arkema Première Ligue and National Women's Soccer League.

EA Sports FC 27 launches worldwide on 25 September 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who purchase the Ultimate Edition or the Ultimate Plus Edition receive early access to the game on 18 September 2026.
