Gamevasion Powered by DreamHack to Debut in Hannover in December
From 5 to 8 December 2024, Gamevasion powered by DreamHack will make its debut in Hannover (Germany). This new gaming festival, organised by Freaks 4U Gaming, will replace the previous DreamHack event. It includes a BYOC LAN event and an Expo.
Freaks 4U Gaming, the licensee and organiser of DreamHack Hannover, has announced the upcoming Gamevasion powered by DreamHack event. This new gaming festival will replace DreamHack Hannover and return to Hannover with a BYOC LAN event from 5 to 8 December and an expo featuring cosplay, trading card games and other interactive gaming experiences from 6 to 8 December.
"After many months of planning we are excited to bring the gaming festival back to Hannover this December, we are also thankful to Deutsche Messe for playing an instrumental role in the realization of this event," said Michael Haenisch, CEO of Freaks 4U Gaming. "Gamevasion powered by DreamHack sets out to be a dynamic and inclusive festival that celebrates the diversity of gaming culture and provides the most unforgettable experiences for all attendees."
Freaks 4U Gaming became the licensee of DreamHack in Germany in 2022 and has since hosted two festivals in the city of Hannover. In anticipation of the end of the DreamHack licence agreement at the end of 2024, Freaks 4U Gaming will continue its venture to create a gaming community festival through a new brand, with support from DreamHack until the end of the year. Launched in 2020 by Rocket Beans, Instinct3 and Freaks 4U Gaming, Gamevasion began as an influencer online gaming festival during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. After its inaugural year in 2020 and a second edition in 2021, Freaks 4U Gaming is relaunching Gamevasion this December. Following discussions with Instinct3 and Rocket Beans, who are supporting the ideas for further development, Freaks 4U Gaming will continue the 'Gamevasion' brand on its own.
"We have had a great run with DreamHack Hannover with positive partner and community feedback and are grateful for our partnership with DreamHack, as the license concludes at the end of year," added Haenisch. "Based on the continued support from our community and many potential sponsors and partners we are already in discussion with, we are confident that Gamevasion powered by DreamHack will become the new must-attend event for gamers in the DACH region."
The festival plans to include a creator hub for meet-and-greets and other interactive activities for creators and fans, as well as a dedicated area for local communities to showcase themselves, similar to the concept of Speedrunning in 2023. Gamevasion powered by DreamHack is also looking to incorporate esports content by inviting teams to participate in tournaments and fan engagement. In addition, to support the growth and development of gaming and esports, and to foster relationships with partners and stakeholders in the ecosystem, the festival will support on-site conferences and networking as part of its B2B programme in collaboration with the eSport-Bund Deutschland e.V. (ESBD).
