Deck13 is bringing in creative reinforcements for its next project: Dessil Basmadjian is taking on the role of Creative Director, where he and the team are working on an “ambitious new third-person action game.”

Dessil Basmadjian is following in the footsteps of Deck13 co-founder Jan Klose in a way, who left the studio last year. In addition to serving as Managing Director, Klose also held the role of Creative Director.

However, Basmadjian is no stranger to Deck13. As the long-time creative lead at Focus Entertainment – first as Creative Director and later as Chief Creative Officer – he has accompanied Deck13 from a publishing perspective in recent years. Focus Entertainment, part of the PulluP Entertainment Group, acquired Deck13 in 2020.

Dessil Basmadjian, who announced his move via LinkedIn, also referenced the Frankfurt-based company’s upcoming project in his post: "I'm thrilled to finally announce that I've joined Deck13 as Creative Director, where we'll be crafting an ambitious new third-person action game!" writes Basmadjian on LinkedIn. It’s no surprise that Deck13 feels at home in the third-person action genre, with previous titles like The Surge, The Surge 2, and Atlas Fallen in its portfolio.
