Die "Reality"-Engine wird nicht mehr weiterentwickelt. Epic Games hat den Artifical Studios sämtliche Rechte an der Engine abgekauft und die Entwicklung eingestellt.

Wie man einen unliebsamen Konkurrenten elegant los wird, demonstriert derzeit Epic Games. Die Entwickler der "Unreal"-Engine haben den Artificial Studios die "Reality"-Engine abgekauft. Chefentwickler Tim Johnson wechselte gleich mit die Seiten. Allerdings nur, um künftig an der "Unreal 3"-Engine zu arbeiten. Geschäfte will Epic mit dem Neuerwerb nämlich keine machen. Sämtliche Weiterentwicklungen an "Reality" wurden eingestellt; die Engine soll nicht weiter vertrieben werden. Studios, die bislang mit "Reality" gearbeitet haben, soll eine vergünstigte "Unreal 3"-Lizenz angeboten werden.
