Last Sunday, representatives from 12 organisations from the fields of e-sports, sport and business met to found the E-Sport-Verband Niedersachsen. This is the fourth state association to begin work under the umbrella of the E-Sport-Bund Deutschland e.V. (ESBD).

As was already apparent at the beginning of May, a fourth association for esports was founded at the federal state level last weekend. Representatives from 12 organisations from the fields of esports, sport and business met to formally establish the E-Sport-Verband Niedersachsen e.V. (e-sport.nds) (Lower Saxony Esports Association). Lara Arendt from E-Sport-Verein Osnabrück Gaming e.V. will serve as president and Björn Benke (Esport Innovation Hub) as first vice president. The board is complemented by three vice presidents: Jan Knaack from E-Sport Union Göttingen as vice president of organisation, Mike Hillen from Esport Arcade Osnabrück for finance and Sascha Bartsch from Osnabrücker Sportclub for youth. The association will be based in the state capital, Hanover.

President Lara Arendt stated: "I am very happy that we were able to found the Lower Saxony E-Sports Association today! I am delighted to be part of these new challenges. My goal is to build a great and diverse network of different players. Because we are all united by the same passion: esports."

In addition to the organisations represented by the members of the executive committee, the founding members include the esports department of TSV Burgdorf, ASC Göttingen von 1846 e.V., Niedersachsen.next, Dr. Buhmann Schule & Akademie, the ESBD and individuals.

"The fact that we have stakeholders from business and traditional sports on board as founding members of the Lower Saxony E-Sports Association underscores our vision of digital sports that prepare people for the future, offer new options for companies and connect generations," says Björn Benke, 1st Vice President.
