On the 14 September, the summer season of the Uniliga will reach its highlight with the finals in Valorant and League of Legends. For the first time, the finals will be held at the newly opened Xperion Hamburg.
The Uniliga Finals will be held in Hamburg for the first time on 14 September. The esports event will be held at the new Xperion Hamburg, which opens this week on 5 September. The teams from the University of Mannheim (Tut Tut Mannheim) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT SC HNELLEBRILLE) have qualified for the final in Valorant, while the teams from the Humboldt University of Berlin (UEB HU Pen) and another team from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT SC White) have qualified for the final in League of Legends. Both finals will be played in a best-of-five format.
Spectators will be able to experience the finals of the 2024 Summer Season live on site, take part in sponsor activities or get information at their stands, including HanseMerkur Versicherung, Shopmacher, Techniker Krankenkasse and Hanuta Riegel. The event will also see the presentation of the Community of the Year award and, for the first time, the MVP title for the Valorant final.
The Uniliga Finals will be the first major esports event to be held at the new Xperion Hamburg, which is the largest venue of its kind in Germany at 3,500 square metres. After opening in Cologne and Berlin, Hamburg is now the third location. Admission is free. Doors open at 10 a.m. For those unable to attend in person, the finals will be streamed live on Twitch.
The Uniliga is the largest university esports league in Germany and a project of the start-up company UNI E-Sports GmbH, which was originally founded by students. The Uniliga currently has more than 4,000 active players in over 600 teams at around 200 locations. This makes it a stepping stone for tomorrow's esports professionals and the foundation for amateur esports throughout Germany.
