Responsibility for each other, for society, and for the planet: The Play25 festival in Hamburg has revealed its topic "Take Care". From 12-15 November, the Hamburg stable will open its doors in a new location.

“Take Care” is the theme and call to action of this year's Play – Creative Gaming Festival, which opens for the first time on November 12 at Urbaneo – Junges Architektur Zentrum und New Work in Hamburg. Until November 15, Play will focus on the question of how digital games can make responsibility for each other, for society, and for the planet visible. Visitors can find around 30 exhibitions, talks, workshops, and performances.

"With Take Care, we want to focus on what often remains invisible in our society: care work, mutual consideration, and the question of how we treat each other. Games offer the perfect opportunity to make these topics tangible and thus spark discussions," says Vera Marie Rodewald, artistic curator of the festival management.

Also participating for the third year is the Young Play youth team. Young people between the ages of 14 and 19 from all over Germany are curating their own exhibition, organizing talks, a game jam, workshops, and hands-on activities. To this end, 15 young people from the Young Play team also visited Gamescom in Cologne this year.

Traditional part of the festival are also the Creative Gaming Awards, which honor particularly innovative and artistic games and game formats. The audience decides who wins the Audience Award. All exhibited works are eligible to compete.
