Gamescom Latam Concludes With Broken Records and Above Expectations
Following the visitor numbers, the organisers of gamescom latam have now presented the final report with further data. Koelnmesse and the City of Cologne are also satisfied with the partnership, as was reported on site by the Mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker and Oliver Frese, COO of Koelnmesse, who had travelled to the event.
Even though the most important figure had already been announced with a record attendance of over 130,000, the official closing report for gamescom latam provides a deeper insight into how successful the second edition of the trade fair was. Over 300 media outlets from all over the world were on site to report on the trade fair. There were also over 2000 influencers. In total, over 40 publishers were among the exhibitors, presenting more than over 400 games to play at more than 90 booths. Last but not least, over 10 million people were reached via the official gamescom latam digital channels by the time the final announcement was made.
"We're very excited about the results of the second edition of gamescom latam. The numbers were above expectations, and the broken records not only consolidate the great relevance of the event for the whole region but also show companies from all over the world that this market is consolidated, competitive, and is filled with a lot of passion and high-quality professionals. Above all, gamescom latam has established itself as the place for publishers to be and games to launch, with more than 120 launches in this edition", says Gustavo Steinberg, CEO of gamescom latam.
The success of gamescom latam is also a great success for Koelnmesse's internationalisation strategy. This was emphasised by both Oliver Frese, COO of Koelnmesse, and Cologne's Lord Mayor Henriette Reker. Both travelled to São Paulo especially for gamescom latam.
"In times when trade barriers are being erected and partnerships are being called into question, we now need fast-growing allies like Brazil and the Mercosur countries all the more," said Henriette Reker, who also visited Cologne's twin city Rio de Janeiro as part of the trip. Business in South America is also very important for Koelnmesse, which now organises four trade fairs in Brazil. "Our growth story in and with Brazil and Mercosur continues unabated," says Koelnmesse Managing Director and COO Oliver Frese. "All of the trade fairs that we have been organising here, some of them for many years, are growing steadily and strengthening Koelnmesse's position in Latin America."
The next gamescom latam will take place form 30 April to 3 May 2026. A VIP Day for invited guests, press, and influencers is also planned for 29 April. The venue will remain the same—the Anhembi district of São Paulo.
