One day before the Deutscher Computerspielpreis, the Finnish games industry honoured its top titles and celebrated its 30th anniversary. Remarkably, PC games were the big winners this time around, even though Finland is considered a mobile gaming country.

In fact, the dominance of PC games at the Finish Game Awards 2025 was so unusual that even Joni Lappalainen, Chairman of the Board at the Finnish Game Developers’ Association, couldn't let it go uncommented: "This year’s gala was a bit unusual. Finland is globally recognized for its mobile games, but in 2024, only a handful of new mobile titles were released. All the winning games this year were published for PC and/or consoles. The fierce competition in the gaming industry is also evident in the fact that Makea Games, the developer of Supermoves, which placed second for Finnish Game of the Year, was unable to continue operations despite having created a great game."

IGDA Finland presented awards in a total of nine categories this year. Housemarque, Finland's oldest active game studio, was the main sponsor of the gala. Founder and CEO Ilari Kuittinen gave a speech, as the Finnish games industry is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The Neogames association will not publish market development data until its report in autumn. However, based on preliminary figures, Neogames expects 2024 to be a better year for the Finnish games industry than 2023, which was a year of consolidation.

The winners of the Finish Game Awards 2025 are:
  • IGDA Volunteer of the Year 2024: Daria Bokovaya
  • IGDA Lifetime Achievement 2025: Christopher Hamilton
  • Finnish Game Jam - Jampion of the Year 2024: Ali İrdiren
  • W Love Games Excellence Award 2024: Finnish Cottage Simulator (Ranela Games)
  • Bit1 Game Competition 2025: Spaceship Scavenger (Team Scavenger)
  • Rookie of the Year 2024: Hanki Games
