At its first funding meeting of 2025, Nordmedia approved a total of €3.7 million in funding for 54 projects. This includes five game projects, which will receive just under a quarter of a million euros.

The two largest grants in the games sector, each worth nearly €100,000, went to Mosaik Mask Studio in Isernhagen and About Cannons + Sparrows in Buchholz in der Nordheide. Both grants are for production.

About Cannons and Sparrows, which is also the name of the team behind the game, is an action-adventure title and will receive up to €93,961.54 in funding. St. Vincent Town by Mosaik Mask is a classic point-and-click adventure and will receive up to €92,460.

1000 Orks from Osnabrück will receive €20,000 for the concept development of Rabauken, and WattWeise c/o Wattwelten from Oldenburg will receive the same amount for KlimaHeroes 2080. A game with a similar title, Projekt 2080 by Lubiu, Pfeffer GbR, from Bremen, will receive €15,377.60. This makes it the first project to receive funding under Bremen's new programme.

The five grants thus totalled 241,799.14 euros. The submission deadline for the next Nordmedia funding session and thus for productions from Lower Saxony and Bremen is 4 September 2025.
