Five studios in Germany are set to receive funding from the German federal government's video game funding programme. More than €2.1 million will be handed out.

Chimera Entertainment, based in Munich, will receive the largest share of funding, totalling €745,537, for Kingdom of Memories. Direct project funding runs from 1 March 2026 to 31 October 2027. This is the third grant that the company has received from federal funds, following grants of €1,492,238 for Realms at War and €952,180 for Songs of Silence.

€671,070 has been awarded to Beyond Worlds in Landstuhl for the expansion and porting of Silberheim, an evolving trading card game shaped by the player's actions. The game is set in a fantasy world, which is also the setting for the novel series "The Silberheim Memories". Beyond Worlds says: "Our first module on the way to a extensive collection of products is our trading card game, which will be available as a physical/digital hybrid. Using NFC technology you can scan the printed cards and add them to your digital collection. The game is based on the lore of Silberheim and will feature high complexity and many expansions. One of our biggest goals is for every card to be useful for the players, not only the best ones of the current meta. We accomplish this with a novel way to generate resources and by using different formats and events. As such collecting all cards really pays off!" Direct project funding runs from 01 March 2026 to 29 February 2028. This is the studio's second funding, the first was for Silberheim Evolving Card Game (€323,850).

H.O.P.E. - humans on planet earth from Wiesbaden is receiving €273,679 in funding for SHIFT:NOW - Spielerisch Nachhaltigkeit Entdecken. This direct project funding runs from 1 March 2026 to 29 February 2028. This is the studio's second grant; the first was for the H.O.P.E. app, a climate protection app that uses gamification, which has already been released (€395,850). Users can collect points, rewards and achievements for climate-friendly behaviour.

Xyrality, based in Hamburg, is receiving €202,841 in funding to expand Logistics Empire to include air, water and rail (Luft, Wasser, Gleis). Logistics Empire is a tycoon simulation game based on a real-world map and playable on iOS, Android and browsers. The direct project funding runs from 1 March to 31 October 2026. Depending on the size and evaluation of the project, funding typically starts at €300,000 and is provided as a non-refundable grant covering up to 50% of a project's eligible costs, with a cap of up to €8 million per project for companies that have a registered office, permanent establishment or branch office in Germany.
