Claudia Kuehl and Dirk Gaertner Found Rocky Oceans Communications

With their combined 50+ years of experience in the games industry, Claudia Kuehl and Dirk Gaertner found a new communications agency: Rocky Oceans Communications will be based in Hamburg and Munich.

With the locations in Northern and Southern Germany Rocky Oceans Communicatons positions itself as a bridge between Northern and Southern Europe and offers an extensive service portfolio. Their services include classic channels such as out of home, content marketing but also performance media and comprehensive event management for local and international events. Rocky Oceans sees itself in the games industry, but also in the board games, toys, entertainment-tech industry.

The two founders are experienced managers in the German games industry. Claudia Kühl began her career at the former publisher Vivendi Universal Games (now part of Activision Blizzard) and worked in senior management positions for THQ in London, Electronic Arts in San Francisco, Bigpoint and Daedalic in Germany, among others. Dirk Gaertner started at Saitek and switched to the agency side in March 2003. Since 2007, he has been the owner and CEO of Gaertner PR, which supported the German branch of Take-Two Interactive and in particular the 2K label in PR for many years.
