A total of 29 projects were submitted for the Game Award Saar 2025. A total prize fund of €80,000 was distributed across the following categories: Founder's Award, Best Concept, Best Prototype, Best Game and Special Jury Prize. The Game Award was also broadcast via livestream.
Elena Yorgova-Ramanauskas, State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy, said, "With the Game Award Saar, we are offering the Saarland games industry a platform to recognise its achievements. Its importance as an economic factor is growing steadily. That is why, together with East Side Fab, we launched the award this year with a new concept that recognises important economic aspects such as networking, awareness of the industry and its potential. I am delighted to see the many developers we have honoured today who will continue to make waves in the future."
The winners of the Game Award Saar 2025
- Founder's Award: Project Decay - Shaded Sun Productions (€20,000)
- Best Concept: Courtyard - DigiTales Interactive UG (€15,000)
- Best Prototype: Cardboarded Out - batty RabbitUG (€15,000)
- Best Game: Mindlock - The Apartment - Roof Cut Media (€20,000)
Special Jury Prize
- Special Jury Prize - Exceptional Gameplay: The Clubies - Cluby Games UG (€5,000)
- Special Jury Prize - Educational Value: Drayn - Harikoah GmbH (€5,000)
In addition to the awards ceremony, Arne Gels gave a keynote speech on the success mechanisms of the games industry. There was also a panel discussion on gaming in the contexts of education, business, innovation and social cohesion. The discussion was taken part in by Prof. Dr. Linda Breitlauch, Jasmin Karatas, Lars Klein and Thomas Immich. The Game Award Saar 2025 was held in cooperation with East Side Fab e.V.
