André Bernhardt brings over two decades of industry experience to the role. In addition to his professional roles at Sony PlayStation, JoWooD, Sunflowers and Travian Games, Bernhardt has made a name for himself particularly as an indie advisor, and has contributed as an expert to numerous programmes and training courses such as Level Up in Bavaria and the Play, Promote, Publish workshop run by the Erich Pommer Institute.

Bernhardt will now continue to support studios across Europe in his role as General Manager at Spielfabrique. SpielFabrique, founded ten years ago by Odile Limpach and Thierry Baujard, offers a wide range of programmes, including the European Videogame Accelerator (EVA). According to its own figures, Spielfabrique has already supported more than 300 indie studios in Europe, Africa and South America since its inception.

According to a LinkedIn post, the appointment of André Bernhardt as General Manager is intended to relieve the founders of day-to-day management duties, allowing them to explore new business opportunities within their respective fields of expertise. Odile focusing on education, incubation, and institutional partnerships, and Thierry on creative industries financing and ecosystem development.
