Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders and Mario Kart World were the big game announcements from Nintendo for Switch 2. But many third-party developers and publishers have also announced their games for the upcoming Nintendo console.

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, a number of new games from Nintendo and third-party partners were announced, as well as ports of existing or previously announced games. Nintendo began by introducing Mario Kart World, which will be released on the launch day (5 June 2025) of the new console and will be available exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. It is an open-world racing game - on land, water and in the air. There will be classic four-track challenges as well as other racing modes (Knockout Tour and Free Roam). Up to 24 players can compete in each race. Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders were also announced. No new Mario platform game was revealed. A new game in The Legend of Zelda franchise was also not mentioned, only a new entry in the spin-off series Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. The most surprising third-party announcement, however, was The Duskbloods, a multiplayer title from FromSoftware that will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 next year.
