The Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2025, a digital event with lots of trailers of lots of games, lasted just over an hour and a half. Which German, Austrian and Swiss companies were featured, and what were the most important announcements?
This year's Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2025 was hosted by Jennifer English (Shadowheart from Baldur's Gate 3) and Nolan North (Nathan Drake from Uncharted). There were also some games from Germany and Austria.
Developer Bleakmill, based in Berlin and Glasgow, and publisher Headup have released a new story trailer for Industria 2. The trailer explains "What is Atlas?", an AI central to the game's story, and showcases its visuals and environments. The game will be released later this year. The launch trailer of Inayah - Life after Gods by ExoGenesis Studios and Headup was also shown. The game will be released on 27 March on PC.
The world of Once Upon a Puppet will finally open its curtains on 23 April 2025. The handcrafted puzzle-platformer from Flatter Than Earth and Daedalic Entertainment will launch on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
Fun Punch Games from Lisbon and Gameforge 4D presented Shelf Heroes, a fast-paced roguelite FPS where rogue toys have taken over the house. Playable solo or with friends in 3-player co-op.
THQ Nordic will publish Locomoto from Sweden's Green Tile Digital for Nintendo Switch. The life-sim adventure as a train driver will first be released on PC on 8 April 2025. Reanimal, the next game from Little Nightmares creators Tarsier Studios from Sweden, was presented with a gameplay overview trailer. The game is about siblings escaping from an island full of haunted creatures.
Reikon Games from Poland and Deep Silver (Plaion) presented Metal Eden, the new FPS from the developers of Ruiner. A demo will be released on all platforms on 8 April, with the full game coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 6 May.
Independent Polish development team Angry Bulls Studio and publisher Toplitz Productions have released a new trailer for the isometric action-adventure game Survive The Fall. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the game offers players a mix of tactical action, survival mechanics and base building. Permafrost by SpaceRocket Games, also from Poland, was also shown. The trailer showed some of the dangers faced by survivors in a frozen apocalypse.
Remedy Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer for FBC: Firebreak, a three-player co-op FPS in which the Federal Bureau of Control's first response unit must contain an escalating paranatural threat. The latest trailer shows one such mission, Paper Chase, where an outbreak of rogue sticky notes in the Executive Sector of the Oldest House - seemingly harmless at first - spirals into a paranatural crisis. Players must navigate three escalating zones, culminating in a showdown against a towering, gigantic manifestation of these anomalies. Launching in the summer of 2025, FBC: Firebreak is Remedy Entertainment's first self-published game and will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This mid-priced title will also be available on day one via PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate and the PlayStation Plus Games Catalogue (Extra and Premium).
Arc Games, Asmodee and Cephalofair Games are bringing the board game Frosthaven to Steam as a videogame adaptation. The dark fantasy RPG offers strategic battles and a co-op multiplayer mode. The game is being developed in Bulgaria by Snapshot Games (Chaos Reborn, Phoenix Point, Chip 'n Clawz vs. The Brainioids). "We're very excited to bring Frosthaven into the digital realm," said Julian Gollop, CEO of Snapshot Games. “With this video game adaptation of Frosthaven, all of us at Snapshot Games know just how beloved the board game is and have been taking great care of replicating the board game experience as much as possible. We feel that fans of the board game, both newcomers and long-time veterans, will find that the video game we're working on is not only a faithful adaptation, but also another way to play their favorite board game in a more accessible way to help introduce their friends to the game!"
Saber Interactive's 3D Realms label and developer Anshar Studios (Poland) have announced Painkiller, a new take on the classic shooter coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam in the fall of 2025. They promise fast-paced gameplay set to a powerful metal soundtrack in solo or co-op.
Kepler Interactive participated with three games and demos. Bionic Bay, a sci-fi platform adventure from developers Psychoflow Studio (Taiwan) and Mureena (Finland), Neon Abyss 2, the sequel to the award-winning roguelike hit Neon Abyss from Veewo Games (China), and Stand-Alone from Korea's Lifuel, a hack-and-slash roguelike featuring a vengeful robo-sheep protagonist. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from Sandfall Interactive in France was featured in the showcase with a character trailer.
Taleworlds announced the major expansion for Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord called War Sails. With War Sails, seafaring and a new Viking-inspired faction will be added to the game on 17 June 2025. Players will be able to build their fleet, learn naval warfare, and explore an even larger world map.

Bandit Trap: The game from Picomy in the Netherlands and PM Studios is a 3vs1, chaotic, physics-based online multiplayer title.
Billie Bust Up: A 3D platforming musical from Giddy Goat Games (UK) and Humble Games.
Chains of Freedom: Lithuanian developer Nordcurrent and in-house publishing label Nordcurrent Labs will release the post-apocalyptic, tactical and turn-based adventure for PC, PS4/PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 15 April 2025.
City Tales - Medieval Era: French indie studio Irregular Shapes and publisher Firesquid announced that City Tales will launch in Early Access on Steam on 22 May 2025.
Cloudheim: The game from Noodle Cat Games is a cooperative action RPG that combines crafting with physics-based combat. It's scheduled for release in 2025.
Cronos: The New Dawn: Bloober Team's third-person survival horror game will launch this year. It takes place in a dark world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futuristic technology.
Crown Gambit - The narrative tactical game from the French indie studio will be published by Playdigious Originals in 2025.
Deathground: UK-based Jaw Drop Games is developing a solo and co-op survival horror game that pits players against AI dinosaurs in a battle for survival.
Elsewhere Electric: Games from Canada's Stitch showed off the co-op puzzle game for two players.
Fretless: The Wrath of Riffson - Ritual Studio's (US) Fretless is coming to Steam on 22 May 2025. It is a musical role-playing game where players wield powerful instruments. It will be published by Playdigious Originals.
Fuze: A social platform from PM Studios to track, rate, share your gaming memories and connect with other gamers is available to users on PC.
GOG.com: The preservation program welcomes another round of newcomers. This time Silent Hill 4: The Room, F.E.A.R. Platinum and 24 other games.
Hawthorn: Inspired by Victorian-era European fairy tales and the spirit of 80's and 90's adventure stories with anthropomorphic animals, this co-op sandbox RPG-sim is being developed by NEARstudios.
Hell Clock: The game of Rogue Snail from Brazil and Mad Mushroom is a combination of roguelike and ARPG.
I Hate This Place: Broken Mirror Games from Poland, in partnership with Skybound Entertainment, have revealed this upcoming open-world survival horror game, set for release in Q4 2025.
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days: The game by PikPok (Prodigy Design Limited) from New Zealand will launch on 10. April 2025 in Early Access.
Karma: The Dark World: The psycho horror game from publisher Wired Productions and developer Pollard Studio (China) will be released on 27 March 2025. In the title, players take on the role of agent Daniel McGovern, who finds himself in a dystopian world in East Germany in 1984.
Kingmakers: Redemption Road (US) and tinyBuild showed a gameplay overview of Kingmakers. "Go back in time to a war-torn medieval era with a vast arsenal of modern weapons, change the course of history, and save the future in this epic action/strategy sandbox."
LAN Party Adventures: From Peruvian developer Leap Game Studios, this game challenges players to host LAN parties in different locations.
Lost Rift: People Can Fly (Poland) announced a first-person survival shooter adventure that blends base-building PVE co-op with PvPvE extraction gameplay, set on an archipelago that can be explored solo or in teams of up to 5 players.
Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree by Primal Game Studio and Knights Peak is released on 17 April 2025.
Mecha Break: After a very successful demo (CCU peak: 317,522), Amazing Seasun Games is preparing the Open Beta.
Neighbors: Suburban Warfare: This light-hearted, team-based PvP game about neighbourhood warfare from Invisible Walls (Denmark) and Amplifier Studios launches in Early Access on 17 April 2025.
Nitro Gen Omega: Destinybit from Italy is working on the Spaghetti Anime turn-based tactical RPG where players lead a crew of mercenaries through wastelands overrun by machines.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny: Capcom showed a "Message from the Director" trailer for the remaster, which will be released in Europe on 23 May 2025 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
Pioner, a post-apocalyptic MMO shooter by GFA Games from Russia, will be released this year.
Raev: Kingdom on the Distant Shores: Ravine Interactive, an indie game studio from Finland, has announced this kingdom builder that allows players to build more than just a city. It is published by V Publishing.
Revenge of the Savage Planet: Independent developer Raccoon Logic from Canada has released the latest trailer for their self-published sci-fi adventure, Revenge of the Savage Planet, which will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 8 May 2025.
Rivals Hover League: Krafton and EF Games from Spain have announced Rivals Hover League, a fast-paced vehicle arena battle game. Krafton will support EF Games in the areas of marketing, publishing and live service.
Romestead: Beartwigs from Sweden has announced an action-adventure survival game for 1-8 players in a world where an apocalyptic event has left Rome in ruins. "Fight, build towns and earn favor with the Roman gods! ...or just farm your crops."
Section 13: The twin-stick shooter from Ocean Drive Studio (South Korea) and Kakao Games will be released in May 2025.
South of Midnight: Xbox and Compulsion Games have announced that the game has reached Gold status and will be released on 8. April. The original soundtrack by composer Olivier Deriviere is now available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Bandcamp.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster: Nightdive Studios announced that the modernized edition of the 1999 classic sci-fi horror action role-playing game will be released on PC and consoles on 26 June 2025.
The Alters: 11 bit studios from Poland debuted the first in a series of behind-the-scenes videos. The Alters launches in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
The Last Caretaker: Finland's Channel37 has released an international trailer for its maritime survival action-adventure game. It will be released in Early Access for Windows PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store later this year.
The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time: This game is the "final hour of a lost (nonexistent) JRPG", "remade" with director's commentary, the digital manual, and archival footage. It's a deduction puzzle game made from a JRPG.
White Knuckle: This is a first-person roguelike speed climbing game by Dark Machine Games from the USA and published by DreadXP.
Will: Follow The Light: The game from TomorrowHead Studio (USA) is a story-driven first-person adventure puzzle game about a personal journey through the harsh northern latitudes.
