Everplay Subsidiary Astragon Welcomes Düsseldorf's Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller
The purpose of the Mayor of Düsseldorf's visit to astragon was to gain insights into the company and to discuss the positioning of North Rhine-Westphalia as a business hub, potential joint events, and the empowerment of women in STEM professions.
Düsseldorf's Lord Mayor, Dr. Stephan Keller, was welcomed by astragon’s co-CEOs, Julia Pfiffer and Tim Schmitz. The two CEOs of the Everplay subsidiary not only provided their guests with insights into the company—well known for its simulation games—but also discussed North Rhine-Westphalia’s and Düsseldorf’s creative industries. astragon relocated to the state capital in 2019.
According to the company, additional discussion topics included potential joint events, the representation of female protagonists in STEM-related fields, and addressing the shortage of skilled workers. For many years, astragon has participated in initiatives such as Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day to give school students a glimpse into the creative career opportunities within the gaming industry.
"The computer games industry is a forward-looking sector for Düsseldorf and an important economic driver for the region," said Mayor Dr. Keller. "Companies in the creative industries, such as astragon Entertainment, offer numerous career prospects in an innovative and growing sector."
Co-Managing Director Julia Pfiffer added: "As a company, we want to further develop this location and foster synergies. Games companies not only combine creative and technical expertise but also increasingly attract young talent. Moreover, the gaming industry’s experience can benefit other industries and public administration—whether through innovative technologies or creative solutions. We feel a strong connection to Düsseldorf and see many shared themes and opportunities for collaboration."
