In today's exhibitor update for gamescom, the organisers Koelnmesse and game Verband not only confirmed new game companies. Disney Plus, Netflix, and Paramount+ will also be using gamescom to connect with the gaming community.

This is not the first time that video streamers have used the trade fair in Cologne to present themselves and their offerings to the gaming community. Since the gamescom nomenclature was changed in 2023, streaming providers have been regular exhibitors.

Even though streaming is not yet significant enough at the trade fair to justify its own special area, the stands of the major streaming providers have long been an integral part of the entertainment area, which is open to consumers.

Three major streaming providers have already been confirmed for this year: Koelnmesse and gamescom owner, the industry association game, have announced that Disney Plus, Netflix and Paramount are confirmed as partners or exhibitors. It is unclear whether other companies will follow suit, but it is by no means unlikely. Amazon Prime was partially represented with its own stand, but often also at a stand of a sister organisation, most notably at the AWS stand. Crunchyroll has also been present in Cologne in the past.

Although not yet confirmed, gaming streaming platforms such as Twitch and social media networks such as Meta, TikTok and Discord are also almost certain to be exhibitors in Cologne. It remains to be seen whether Apple and Google will also have a major presence. In the past, they have tended to stay in the background, unlike other non-endemic companies such as McDonalds and Lego. The latter have already been confirmed for gamescom 2025.
