LoL Prime League Finals Will be Held at Gamescom 2025
gamescom is getting another esports highlight. In addition to the Pro Arena, Freaks 4U will also be rocking the Main Stage in Hall 1 on 24 August with the final of the Techniker Prime League, the highest League of Legends league in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The qualifying matches for the grand final at gamescom will take place before the trade fair from 14 to 19 August. At the trade fair itself, the final of the Techniker Prime League will take place on 24 August in the Event Arena, which can accommodate up to 3,000 spectators.
This marks the first time since 2019 that the highest League of Legends league in the GSA region will be hosting a final at gamescom. The final will be accompanied by an extensive fan programme, which is being organised with the help of partners such as Die Techniker Krankenkasse, DKB, Nongshim, KitKat, Bitburger 0.0, R+V and HOLY.
"A final at gamescom is one of the biggest highlights we can offer the Techniker Prime League and its community. A huge stage, thousands of fans on site and the full attention of the gaming world – this is exactly where a League of Legends final belongs," says Matthias Remmert, Senior VP Product, TV & Media Productions at Freaks 4U.
The Berlin-based company will also be staging the 2,500 square metre Pro Arena in Hall 8 at gamescom. SK Gaming has already been confirmed as the first partner here.
The esports activities are of strategic importance for Koelnmesse: "gamescom and esports have always gone hand in hand. As an essential part of gaming culture, esports stands for more than just competition and emphasises values such as team spirit, fair play and high-class performance. That's why we're thrilled to welcome the Prime League to gamescom this year," says Tim Endres, Director of gamescom.
