For its Welcome to NRW booth in the business area of gamescom, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is looking for studios interested in showcasing a playable prototype at what is otherwise a business-focused stand. This opportunity is for a one-day appearance only and does not constitute a full exhibitor presence at gamescom.

Indie developers from North Rhine-Westphalia seeking a full exhibitor slot had until April to apply for one of five sponsored spots at the Indie Arena Booth, also supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. The new call, however, relates to the classic B2B booth of North Rhine-Westphalia in the business section of gamescom.

The Welcome to NRW booth is not a traditional shared stand with sub-exhibitors. Rather, it serves as a networking hub for companies from North Rhine-Westphalia and for those looking to connect with the region’s games industry.

As organiser, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW will host numerous events at the booth, including a political reception, lectures, and panel discussions. A dedicated Gaming Area will feature playable projects from the region. In previous years, this showcase focused on titles funded by the state. For 2025, however, NRW is adopting a more open approach.

Studios and teams can apply until 5 June for a slot to showcase a playable prototype at the booth. To allow as many teams as possible to participate, each showcase will run for one day only. Even so, the opportunity is worthwhile: the package includes exhibitor passes, lunch for two people, and free access to the NRW meeting room.
