GamesMarket Daily – 06 Oct 26: Softgames, Rebecca Snell, Nintendo x Polaris, Murray Pannell, GameCamp Munich
A German publisher in a buying mood, new appointments and plenty of event news – from Polaris to GameCamp in Munich and DevGamm in Serbia – today’s news was less about games and more about the business side of things.
If it is not the layoffs that continue, dear readers,
but the acquisitions, then that is a welcome change as far as the news is concerned. I therefore welcome the statement from Softgames, who, following the successful acquisition of Funday Games’ catalogue of instant games, remain in the mood for more acquisitions and are positioning themselves accordingly as potential partners. Only time will tell whether this ultimately results in one more deal or five more. In my view, what’s more important is the signal that, with the right games, the right platform, the right positioning and the right commitment, it’s still possible to do good business in the games sector. Please, let’s see more of this.
Here are the news of the day!
