The fourth edition of Level Up - The Gaming Festival took place on 29 and 30 June at the Salzburg Exhibition Centre and attracted around 10,000 visitors. The organisers are delighted. The gaming event will return in 2025.

The main stage at Level Up 2024 was all about esports. Competitions were held in games such as Rocket League, Counter Strike 2 and Super Smash Bros. A new addition was SheRivals: Queens of Austria. This League of Legends show match pitted the female teams of NNO Prime and SK Gaming against each other. Both Level Up and Morekats wanted to set an example for more diversity and visibility of women in esports. Project Manager Lena Braito: "At Level Up we are very passionate about diversity. That's why this year, for the first time, we organised an all-female tournament together with our long-term partners Morekats Gaming. Our goal is to inspire young women and girls and change traditional role models."

With the help of live streamers, Letsplay4Charity raised money for charity at the festival, while Game2Help - Beat the Pro pitted participants against Super Smash Bros. pro and YouTuber Luigikid. For every outstanding performance against the pro, 200 Euros went into the Letsplay4Charity fundraising pot. This combined approach raised a total of around 11,000 Euros for charity.

The Gaming Zone featured an escape room from Salzburg AG, an excavator simulator from Porr and simracing in the Red Bull Gaming Ground. Many companies, including BRZ, W&H and Axess, used the opportunity to recruit new staff. The E-Sport School League (ESSL) presented its work on the establishment of an Austrian eSports school league. Visitors were also able to play games on 50 PCs in the uRage Free2Play area. In addition, 30 game developers presented their titles in the Indie Games Area. In addition to the Artist Alley, there was also a Retro Area and a Tabletop Area.

Alexander Kribus, Managing Director of Messezentrum Salzburg, gave a positive summary: "Level Up exceeded all expectations this year with its diversity and interactive programme. The positive feedback and the enthusiasm of the visitors made the event an outstanding success. As a result, we are already looking forward to a follow-up event next year".

Level Up 2025 will take place on 28 and 29 June 2025.
