For the third time, the Gaming ohne Grenzen initiative and the mobile service provider congstar have honoured projects, personalities, and technologies that promote accessibility and inclusivity in gaming. The winners were announced at gamescom.

The third Gaming ohne Grenzen (Gaming Without Borders) awards were presented at gamescom 2025. Stefanie Langer hosted the award ceremony, which took place at the Youth Forum NRW stand. Instead of the usual five, six winners were honoured this year. The Community Choice Award was presented in Cologne for the first time.

In the 'National Award' category, a game from the German-speaking region was honoured for its accessibility features. With its flexible controls, specially developed accessibility menu and numerous other inclusive gaming options, The Darkest Files (Paintbucket Games) won over the 14-strong interdisciplinary jury. Second and third place went to Duck Detective: The Secret Salami (Happy Broccoli Games) and Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Megagon Industries).
