Bereits wenige Tage nach Release erreichte "Final Fantasy VII Remake" die Verkaufsmarke von 100.000 Einheiten in Deutschland. Deshalb erhält der Titel den game Sales Award in Gold vom game-Verband. Die lang erwartete Neuauflage von Square Enix Erfolgstitel aus dem Jahr 1997 erschien am 10. April.
