Among simulations, truck simulations are very popular, especially when it comes to the really big vehicles that carry even bigger loads. This is exactly the niche that tox² interactive and Aerosoft have chosen with Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator.

That's what Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator is all about: transporting the really big stuff. For example, when components of wind turbines, such as the often gigantic rotor blades, have to be transported to their destination by equally large and heavy machines on the roads - or other heavy and, above all, large components. It is this niche that developer tox² interactive from Chemnitz and publisher Aerosoft from Paderborn have chosen for their next simulation game, with the development team having already gained experience with On The Road - The Truck Simulator.

This time, however, the vehicles will be even bigger and the payload even heavier, which is a good and important thing, as this differentiates the game from Euro Truck Simulator or American Truck Simulator. Of course, Snowrunner is also about transporting heavy cargo, but this game from Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment is all about off-road environments. In this regard, Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator is a clever addition to the popular genre of truck simulators, especially as the large transports have to be planned in advance.

In this simulation game, players transport oversized cargo through an extensive game world, including dynamic weather and day/night cycles. Before starting the journey with the truck and its various trailers and loads, players have to explore the route with the scout vehicle. If there are any obstacles that could prevent them from completing their missions, they will have to dismantle crash barriers, cut down road signs, determine the height of bridges, or use a crane to lay down plates in order to get the heavy cargo from A to B undamaged. Supported by escort vehicles, players navigate the big trucks on country roads, motorways and through towns and villages, with buildings and tight corners that also pose a challenge for navigation. It includes almost 30 missions in various weight and size classes, as well as the unloading of large and heavy loads using mobile cranes and truck-mounted cranes. From the planning to the execution of challenging missions, everything will be in players' hands. At the end of a mission, players receive a score based on their performance. This unlocks over 100 extra parts, over 20 interior decorations and new truck models, which in turn increases motivation.

In order to make the simulation as realistic as possible, Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator has been developed in cooperation with partner Gruber Logistics and represents the work of a company specialising in the transport of heavy goods in a realistic way.

"We're thrilled to bring Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator to life with such an authentic and immersive experience. Our partnership with Gruber Logistics has allowed us to accurately represent the challenges and intricacies of heavy cargo transport, making this a must-play for simulation enthusiasts and trucking fans alike" - Dirk Ohler, Head of Product Management, Aerosoft

Added to this are fully licensed MAN trucks with various trailers, including tanker bridges, rotor trailers and low-loaders, all based on real models. Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator does not offer a multiplayer mode. However, Aerosoft is releasing both the PC and console versions simultaneously, which is not always the case in this genre.

Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator will be released on 9 October 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PS5 edition will also be available in retail stores.

Conclusion

Aerosoft aims to fill a gap in the truck simulation genre with Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator.
