Zak Whaley takes over as Chairman of the IGDA following this year's board elections. He succeeds Margaret Krohn, whose term as Chair ended in March. Two new members are welcomed to the board.

The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) has a new Chairman of the Board. Following the recent election, Zak Whaley takes up the position. Whaley is Director of Engineering at PlayEverWare and has been a member of the board since 2023. He succeeds Margaret Krohn, who took over as Chair in 2023 and whose chair term ended in March. Krohn will remain on the board as an emeritus member until her board term expires in 2025.

In addition to the new Chair, the elections also brought two new members to the Board. Mafalda Duarte, Studio Director and Producer at Telescope Game Studios, and Tim Cullins, CTO of Revere XR and Executive Director of Seattle Indies and former Executive Director and Director of Operations at Global Game Jam (GGJ), were elected to serve for the years 2024 to 2027. They join a ten-member board that also includes German Valentina Birke of Super Crowd Entertainment.
