Metacore in Berlin: "From Day One, We've Focused on Becoming Part of the Local Ecosystem …"
It has been almost a year and a half since Finland's Metacore Games opened its second office in Berlin. So it's time for CTO Sérgio Laranjeira to share his thoughts on how Metacore has integrated into and contributed to the local Berlin games ecosystem.
GamesMarkt: How has Metacore integrated into and contributed to the local Berlin games ecosystem?
Sérgio Laranjeira: "From day one, we've focused on becoming part of the local ecosystem by supporting various initiatives, sharing knowledge, and giving back to the community. We believe that when we win, the industry wins.
Looking back at the past year, one of the most rewarding aspects of expanding to Berlin has been finding our place in its lively game industry community. From industry events to local meetups, the community in Berlin has welcomed us with open arms.
We've been inspired by the collaborations and innovation around us, and we're actively participating in several events and initiatives. For instance, we're sponsoring and taking part in Games Ground, supporting the newly launched IGDA Berlin chapter, and also joined medianet brandenburg network association.
We've also brought our own Core Talks event series to Berlin, providing a space for industry experts to share knowledge and network. Looking ahead, we're excited to support and participate in Womenize! this June."
Sérgio Laranjeira is CTO at Metacore Games in Berlin. He leads the development of Metacore's technology platform and infrastructure to build and operate a portfolio of mobile games. Previously, Laranjeira was Senior Director of Engineering at Delivery Hero and Engineering Manager at Zalando and N26.
