Video Games Europe and the World Intellectual Property Organization have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on fostering the rights of IP holders like publishers in esports.

Video Games Europe CEO, Simon Little, and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Director-General Daren Tang, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a gathering today at WIPO’s headquarters in Geneva. The strategic partnership “aims to foster collaboration in the field of esports and intellectual property.”

The to-be partners want to foster the rights of IP holders in esports with their cooperation. “Together with WIPO, Video Games Europe will raise awareness of IP rights within esports and licensing, promote best practices, and support all stakeholders in navigating the IP landscape,” the press release bei VGE explains.
