Tax credits are a discussion everywhere, dear readers,

even in countries that already have them. Germany, for example, has none for the games industry but the sector desperately asks for it. In the UK, a standard Expenditure Credit of 34% is available. But that's not enough, argues TIGA, one of the two games associations in the kingdom. The association argues for a raise to 39%, in addition to extra credits equalling 53% of expenditures, gradually tampered down over time per company. It also asks, and that is much less flashy than the numbers but equally important, for credit qualification for post-launch content such as DLC, which is currently not given in the UK.

The island is undoubtely a strong video game production market already – even without statistical outliers like GTA VI – but strong tax credits are always a good case for the respective industries. Let's see how the government responds to the call.

Here are the news of the day!
