A few days before the DCP, Cologne-based studio Slow Bros. had reason to celebrate winning the Animated Games Award Germany. The award was presented at the successful Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film

The International Festival attracted a total of 30,000 visitors this year. A further 40,000 came to the open-air event in Stuttgart's city centre. The ITFS has thus confirmed itself as the leading festival for animated film. As in previous years, games also have a firm place at the festival. For the first time, the participating titles and the nominees for the Animated Games Awards Germany were shown in Stuttgart's Staatsgalerie, bringing them even closer to the festival's other locations.

The highlight from a games perspective was once again the presentation of the Animated Games Awards Germany. The 5000 euro prize went to Slow Bros. for Harold Halibut, which was nominated and honoured several times at numerous international festivals and award shows.

Since in recent years the winner of the Animated Games Awards Germany has almost always also won at least one category at the Deutscher Computerspielpreis (DCP; German Computer Games Award), Slow Bros. will be looking forward to Wednesday when the DCP awards are presented in Berlin. Harold Halibut is nominated in the Best Graphic Design category.
