In the Bavarian capital, Munich, the primary point of contact for the cultural and creative industries is getting a new name. The Cultural and Creative Industries Competence Team is now becoming Creative Munich.

Ten years after its foundation, the Competence Team for Cultural and Creative Industries is adopting a new name and a fresh look in its external communications," the Munich Economic Development Agency announced on LinkedIn. "The previous name is now being changed to Kreativ München." Accompanying the rebranding, the Munich-based design agency Pedall has created a new logo.

"This step unifies all the services offered by the Munich Competence Team for Cultural and Creative Industries under one clear and memorable brand, enhancing their visibility." Under its new identity, Kreativ München will remain "the central point of contact for cultural and creative professionals in Munich." As the head of the centre, Plaf Kranz confirmed on LinkedIn that the tenth anniversary of the organisation was seen as an opportunity to rename "this great team."

The initiative dates back to autumn 2014, when the City of Munich approved the establishment of a central municipal contact point for the cultural and creative industries. Jürgen Enninger was tasked with founding and leading the competence team. In 2017, the Munich City Council made the initiative permanent, ensuring its long-term presence. Almost exactly five years later, Jürgen Enninger provided an interim review of the team's initial successes in an interview with MusikWoche. However, the following year, he moved to Augsburg, where he became head of the Department for Culture, World Heritage, and Sports.
