Rhineland-Palatinate is Funding Four Games With €115,000

The jury of Medienförderung RLP has made its first funding decisions for 2024. Four games projects will receive a total of 115,000 Euros in funding. 14 games were submitted for funding.
In the first round of funding in 2024, Medienförderung RLP is awarding a total of 534,000 Euros. 14 audiovisual projects will receive 365,000 Euros, four games projects 115,000 Euros and three scholarships 54,000 Euros. In the first round of 2024, a total of 99 applications for funding were submitted via the Internet portal of the Media Fund - a new record. 14 of these were in the games category. In accordance with the funding guidelines, only applications with a cultural or economic connection to Rhineland-Palatinate were considered. The Medienförderung RLP GmbH is a regional funding body for audiovisual media and video games in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
"We are promoting a diverse media landscape, giving talented people a reason to stay in the state and strengthening Rhineland-Palatinate as a media location," says the chairwoman of the supervisory board of Medienförderung RLP, State Secretary Heike Raab, Plenipotentiary of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate to the Federal Government and for Europe and the Media. "This is also reflected in the jury's decisions. When awarding funding, Medienförderung RLP also pays particular attention to the diversity and gender equality of the projects it supports. I am therefore particularly pleased that more and more female applicants are finding their way to Medienförderung RLP."
The four games projects are: - 50,000 for the production/development of Causal Loop for Julian König / Mirebound Interactive GmbH - 15,000 for the concept of Limes 119 - Historical Tower Defence Game for Philipp Busch / Mind Games GmbH - 30,000 for the prototype of Umbra's Light for Margaux-Anne Arnu / Studio LVL:MAD GbR - 20,000 for the prototype of Kerfuffle for Laura Völp / Soft Spot:Games UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
The second funding round of the year has already started. Applications can be submitted until 30 October 2024. Medienförderung RLP GmbH is a subsidiary of the Media Authority Rhineland-Palatinate. It is supported by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, SWR and ZDF.
