A total of twelve games from Baden-Württemberg-based games companies and indie game studios are receiving support from MFG and the state of Baden-Württemberg in the first round of funding this year, with around €700,000 being provided.
In the first funding round of 2025, MFG Baden-Württemberg is providing around €700,000 of funding to twelve games. Four of the twelve funded games are in the final production phase.
The jury made its funding decisions on 30 May 2025. The jury comprises Heiko Gogolin (Managing Director at Rocket Beans Entertainment), Franka Futterlieb (Managing Director of Urbn Pockets), Odile Limpach (Co-founder and Managing Director of SpielFabrique and Professor of Economics and Entrepreneurship at the Cologne Game Lab), Andreas Böhmer (Team Lead ARD Partner Management Social Media) and Carl Bergengruen (Managing Director at MFG).
Funding Category Over €20,000
- €150,000 for the production of Morriton Manor Stories: Nordic Whispers by Application Systems Heidelberg Software, Heidelberg (mystery detective game with RPG elements)
- €120,000 for the production of Glintseeker Island by HalfSoupLabs, Offenburg (mining adventure)
- €80,000 for the prototype of Reign of Quandary: Sunward Odyssey by Compositas, Freiburg (sci-fi strategy with survival elements)
- €70,000 for the production of Little Retreat by Blossom Seeker, Ludwigsburg (cozy interior design game)
- €70,000 for the prototype of Kadras - An Interactive Audio Roleplaying Game by EarReality, Heimsheim (interactive audio RPG)
- €67,742 for the production of Screw Drivers by Creactstudios, Karlsruhe (racing and construction game)
- €40,000 for the prototype of Tabuzz by András Timár, Bad Wurzach (question-and-answer game and more)

- €20,000 for the concept of Bor by Lab132, Heidelberg (fantasy game that combines combat RPG elements with a first-person shooter and an immersive simulation)
- €20,000 for the concept of Cozy Towns by Asylum Square Interactive, Alpirsbach (city builder)
- €20,000 for the concept of Dice Never Die / DND by Phantom Island, Ludwigsburg (dice game meets digital deck builder in a 2D roguelike setting)
- €20,000 for the concept of Metal Knights: Nibelungen by Frank Duffner 'DT games', Mühlhausen-Ehingen (base-building auto-battle game inspired by Metal Marines, SNES 1993)
- €20,000 for the concept of Rauhnacht by Blossom Seeker, Ludwigsburg (hand-drawn tower defense game)
