Nearly one week after the end of MAG-C 2026, the final visitor numbers have been confirmed. At over 12,500, they are slightly higher than last year. The anime rave also achieved a new record.
Update from 6 February:
With around 700 tickets sold, MAG-C's Anime Rave was completely sold out, setting a new visitor record. Overall, the trade fair for manga, anime, games and cosplay also grew, setting a new record. However, the increase was smaller than the organisers' initial euphoric summary had suggested. This was published during the last day of the fair, which is why no final figures were available.
In the end, MAG-C 2026 attracted a total of over 12,500 visitors. Last year, the fair closed with 12,300 visitors. However, the increase in visitors, combined with the significant increase in exhibitors, speaks strongly in favour of the fair, which is why the organisers have already announced a date for 2027. MAG-C will then take place on 23 and 24 January.
Original report from 2 February:
Following an increase in exhibitors, MAG-C in Erfurt, the first local gaming community event of the year in Germany, also saw an increase in visitor numbers. The date for next year has already been set.
The halls were full, the aisles were bustling, and the quality of the visitor experience was high. That is how Messe Erfurt summed up MAG-C 2026, which took place last weekend in the capital of Thuringia. Even before the event, the organisers were able to announce a new record in terms of exhibitor numbers. After the event, it was reported that visitor numbers had also increased ‘noticeably’. An exact figure was not yet given in the final press release, but is expected in the next few days.
In terms of content, MAG-C brings together the worlds of manga, anime, games and cosplay, with the numerous cosplay events forming the heart of the event. Accompanying this, there were also related offerings in Erfurt, such as a trading card games arena and an anime rave, which was completely sold out. In the final press release, the organisers also gave numerous partners a chance to have their say, including the developer Playa Games, the beverage brand Holy and Konami, MAG-C's partner in the TCG Arena.
Buoyed by the success, Messe Erfurt has already begun planning for next year, confirming that MAG-C will continue. It will return to Messe Erfurt on 23 and 24 January 2027.
